The first successful clone was born on July 5 1996. Scientists had cloned a sheep and named it Dolly. Unfortunately Dolly died in the next couple weeks due to some complications from the cloning. This created good and bad things in our society. First it was a huge discovery in the field of science and could be used to help people. This also created protesters. The protesters believed that cloning was wrong and was ruining the natural order of things. Who is right? Evidence: When doctors realized what they could do with cloning they started to test immediately. With cloning limbs and organs could be produced from a strand of DNA in the organ they are growing. This could help soldiers from the battle field that lost limbs or a guy with heart failure who needs a new heart. What will it take to do this? Process: Cloning is not an east process. Cloners must take embryos and perform surgery on them to remove nucleases and replace them with the fertilizer and wait until they grow. They must maintain the pregnancy until it is past a certain point. It took 277 tries to clone dolly and it is not getting any easier. Against: Cloning is mostly used today in modern farms to clone prize winning cattle. Many people are against cloning for many different reasons. People believe cloning is wrong because it is messing with Mother Nature and they believe cloning is tied to more godly powers and humans shouldn’t have those powers. Cloning also very expensive and hard to complete and when it is done the clone will never be exactly the same as the first. The clone might experience different things in its life time that will lead it down a different path.
